Oppo A55 5G phone with 5000 mAh battery

China's Oppo announced its newest smartphone in China, called Oppo A55 5G, which comes with MediateK Dimensity 700 chipset and large capacity battery, just days after the release of OPPO A93 5G.

The Dimensity 700 chipset contains a powerful 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 and six 2GHz power-saving Cortex-A55 cells.

The chip comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage, and the company has equipped the Oppo A55 5G with a MicroSD slot to expand internal storage for up to 1TB.

The device comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1600×720 p. resolution and a standard update rate of 60 Hz.

The screen features a drop-shaped bump with an 8MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture, 71 percent NTSC color range, the pixel density of up to 269 pixels per inch, 1500:1 contrast, and 480 candle brightness.

There are three other cameras on the back with a 13MP master lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro lens with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP Portrait lens with an f/2.4 aperture.

Given the limitations of the slide set, Oppo A55 5G records video up to 1080 pixels at 30 fps, while slow motion videos are set at 720p at 120 fps.

The phone has a large battery capacity of 5,000 mAh, but it does not support fast charging but normal 10-watt charging, and there is a USB-C port at the bottom, next to the 3.5mm audio port, and the fingerprint scanner mounted on the side inside the play button.

The phone comes in two colors, Rhythm Black and Blue Brisk , and works with the Android 11.1 ColorOS 11 user interface.

The phone is currently on sale through Obo's distribution channels across China, including major online retailers, such as Tmall and Suning, and costs 1,599 Chinese yuan, or about US$245.

The phone may make its way to global markets in the coming days as MediaTek 5G phones are launched outside China.
