4 Things You Should Know About New Mac Computers

Last Tuesday, Apple held an event called "One More Thing" during which it unveiled its new processor (M1) which will work with the next Mac computers instead of Intel processors, where Apple said that this processor is considered the most powerful processor ever made.

Here are 4 things you should know about new Mac computers:

1- A new processor with amazing capabilities:

Apple said at the event that it has developed an M1 processor to improve mac performance in a way that makes small size and energy efficiency extremely important. As a soC system, M1 combines many powerful technologies into a single chip, and features a unified memory architecture to significantly improve performance and efficiency.

The M1 processor is the first PC processor built using advanced 5 nm processing technology and contains 16 billion transistors. The processor features the world's fastest CPU core, the best CPU performance per watt, the fastest integrated graphics processing in a pc, and stunning machine learning technology performance with the Apple Neural Engine.

As a result, the M1 processor delivers up to 3.5 times faster CPU performance, GPU performance up to 6 times faster, and 15 times faster automated learning, all with twice as much battery life as previous-generation Mac laptop batteries thanks to improved performance and efficiency, so the M1 processor makes the biggest jump ever for Mac computers.

2. iOS applications will run smoothly in Mac computers:

All iOS applications for iPhone and iPad devices will be able to work normally on new Mac computers, which means that users will automatically have access to the vast majority of iPhone apps in the Mac Store, but it is not yet clear how many apps are in the Mac Store that support the operation of iPhone phones and iPads.

3- New models of Mac computers will work with the new processor:

At the same event, Apple announced the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which will be the first computer from the company to work with the new M1 processor, where Apple promises that the computer with the version of the new macOS Big Sur will provide the user with a great experience, where the new computer will become stronger and more efficient.

It also announced the 13-inch Mac Book Air, which works with the same processor, with Apple pointing out that the MacBook Air is the world's best-known Mac and laptop.

Now, thanks to the efficiency of the M1 processor, the computer will provide powerful fanless performance, which means that no matter what users do, it remains completely silent, and the new computer has a battery life of up to 18 hours of video playback.

Compared to the previous generation, the M1-enabled MacBook Air can export video editing projects in the iMovie app up to 3 times faster, and integrate 3D effects into video into Final Cut Pro at up to 5 times.

4. Mac computers represent a major shift for Apple:

This is the first time since 2005 that Apple will not use Intel processors in its Mac computers, now using an ARM-based M1 processor instead, which is similar to the one used in iPhone and iPad devices, and this step represents a major shift in how Apple deals with computing, making the next Mac computers more similar to iPhones and iPads.
