Xiaomi announces its first 82-inch mini-LED TV

Today, Tuesday, Xiaomi announced the world's first mini-LED smart TV with a whopping 82 inches.

It is reported that the Chinese company has launched two versions of the device, the first is (Xiaomi Mi TV Master) Xiaomi Mi TV Master with 4K resolution, and the other is Extreme Edition with 8K resolution.

The Extreme Edition has a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels, which is four times larger than 4K resolution. The screen supports 10-bit technology, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG technology, and covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. The TV also features a brightness level of 2,000 nits with a contrast level of 400,000: 1.

Mini-LED technology is an advanced local dimming solution with 960 zones, each illuminated zone has 16 LEDs connected to dedicated controllers, which can regulate their brightness in 4,096 steps. These lamps are small in size, each less than a tenth of a millimeter long.

The new Xiaomi TV contains a Novatek 72685 processor with Mali-G51 MP4 graphics processor. It supports 5G networks, and an artificial intelligence engine that runs 22 algorithms to optimize images.


The Extreme Edition version of Xiaomi also contains 8 retractable speakers, including two low-frequency amplifiers and two medium-frequency amplifiers. This version is available in China at a price equivalent to 7,350 USD.

The Xiaomi Mi TV Master version comes in 82 inches, but only 4K resolution, and a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. It comes with 240 local dimming zones, and 4,069 levels of brightness in mini-LED technology. The version also supports a brightness level of 1,000 nits and a contrast level of 140,000: 1.

This copy contains a MediaTek 9650 processor and a Mali-G52 MC1 graphics processor. This version of Xiaomi is available at a price equivalent to 1,450 USD as of October 21.
